The Government is considering withdrawing a proposal from the finance ministry to increase environmental taxes on fuel products to the maximum of VND8,000 (US$0.35), stating the move requires further consideration.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has given permission for Nghi Son Oil Refinery and Petrochemical LLC to export fuel products from its new plant, which is operating on a trial basis.
The Viet Nam Petroleum Association (VINPA) has proposed to establish commercial barriers to protect local firms once import duties on fuel products are gradually reduced to zero per cent.
